How can I treat my IBS?
This is the question that keeps us running around in circles trying to find answers.
We lie awake at night thinking about how much we are suffering.
If only we could come up with a solution. Something to solve this problem and put us out of misery.
I know this feeling well.
Feeling defeated by your body.
Feeling like nothing will ever work.
No matter how many people say “this thing worked for me”.
No matter how many medications.
No matter how many doctors you speak to.
Here is some advice I would like to offer, if you’ll take it:
Stop looking at IBS as a problem.
Start looking at IBS as the solution.
You must be thinking I’m nuts for saying this.
I’m bat-shit crazy and that's all, folks.
But hear me out..
Our bodies are always trying to heal themselves.
That’s the body’s nature.
It doesn’t detoxify once a year; it detoxifies daily.
It’s always trying to protect us, keep us alive, keep us well.
So why would it be harming us with IBS?
Maybe our symptoms are the solution to a problem we can’t see?
Here’s an example:
When we get the stomach bug, we might vomit and have diarrhea for 24-48 hours. Sometimes longer.
It’s not comfortable; generally, those symptoms are unpleasant.
But the body is trying to flush out the bug.
And in 24-48 hours, you feel better.
Why can’t it be the same with IBS?
What if this is our protection from harmful bacteria or toxicity?
Science has shown us that IBS has many contributing factors.
But if this is the body’s solution to an unseen problem.
Then perhaps we can find a treatment.
Something unconventional… since conventional medicine hasn’t seemed to work.
Look through the lens of:
“What is my body trying to communicate to me?”
Because IBS is’t random. It’s communication.
When we start looking at these symptoms as messages, we can start to find solutions.
Here's Step 1 if you’re interested in trying something new.
